Russian antitrust wants Uber, GetTaxi, Yandex.Taxi to clarify work
ST.PETERSBURG, Aug 6 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has sent requests to Internet services Uber, GetTaxi and Yandex.Taxi within its checks of respecting the antitrust law, Alexei Gorlinsky, deputy director of the transport control division at the authority, said Thursday at a forum.
“At the moment, our service is carrying out an investigation on a great number of requests regarding Uber, GetTaxi and Yandex.Taxi for possible signs of violations of the antimonopoly law in operations of these companies,” Gorlinsky said.
“At this stage, we’ve asked to clarify compensation mechanisms that are paid out to the drivers, a scheme of cooperation with fleets of taxis.”
The process is “at the stage of investigation,” he said. “If we find signs of violations, we will take measures.”
